Contractions at 35 weeks

I have been having some painful contractions the past couple of days. I called my dr this morning and he told me to come in.

He put me on a monitor and said I was having slight contractions. He then checked my cervix and he said it was thinner but not dilated.

He said that there is stuff he can give to stop the contractions but since I'm 35 weeks he prefers not to. Just said that labor will start to happen naturally and to drink a lot of water and call him if they happen every 3-5 mins.

Has this happened to anyone else? How soon after it started did you give birth?

I'm nervous, and in pain!

I had this with dd starting at 35 weeks except I was having full-blown contractions. I was 4 cm at 39 weeks and the dr decided to induce me. I ended up with a csection. I should add when I went to the hospital to be induced, it turned out I was in active labor.
