Dream feeds

Am I the only one who can't seem to do them? Lol Friends and even my pediatrician have told me to do a dream feed with DD (8 weeks) before I go to bed. She either keeps her lips sealed shut or if she takes the bottle, she lets it just sit in her mouth. Anyone else have this happen?

I never woke my baby up to feed but if she did wake up in mid of night yo feed I would give her s bottle & she drink sorta in her sleep ...when done go right back to sleep ...is that dream feed too?

DS would fall asleep around 9 and then at 1030/11 we would change his diaper which he would pretty much sleep through, but it would "wake" him just enough that he would take a bottle then and he was asleep as he drank it, just before we all went to bed for the night.

Honestly, it was one of the best things we did. It really helped us all get on the same schedule and let us all get a good night's sleep. his bottles we 4 hours apart, so it was the last bottle of the night. It is even better now that we finally dropped that bottle!

We tried twice. DS didn't wake up to really eat and it didn't help him sleep longer, so we never did it. They sleep longer when they are developmentally ready.

I didn't do it. I would rather feed when baby is actually hungry.

Nope - you're not alone. Never even bothered with it at all and don't believe in it. My kid got fed when she woke up and cried for it. Didn't like the idea of feeding her when she was half asleep.

I didn't.

If the baby is asleep he won't feed. If he does feed then he'll wake up and that defeats the purpose.

Right now DS goes to sleep between 8-9. He wakes up between 3-6 hungry,. I nurse him, try to burp him, and put him back in the crib quickly. I try not to hold him too long. Typically he'll fall back asleep after that. If not, then he's normally ok just hanging out in his crib chewing on his hands, "talks" to himself and will fall back asleep.

I did it! It worked for me. He drank, then slept. My dr. told me to stop now that he has teeth because the sugar can rot the teeth.

I never did. My doctor told me at night to never wake a sleeping baby!

I did it around that age for a few weeks. DD would pretty much stay asleep, nurse at least a few minutes before totally going out cold. It wasn't a full feeding or anything but it helped hold her over. She would go to bed around 9, dream feed around 10:30 or 11, then slept until around 5 (sometimes only till 3 and other times till 7). Eventually I stopped and she continued to sttn for a little while. It didn't last long though before she was waking up during the night again.
