These people really, truly s#ck...
I am making it my life mission to stick it to this new firm. They just told my secretary, who works part-time and is on long-term disability as of a year ago because she has a very debilitating illness that they will not put her on the medical plan because she is "part-time", even though she needs a transplant within the next year. The old partners even offered to pay the total premium themselves and the new place said no...
Who does that??? How can they sleep at night????

Who does that? People who don't have consciences.
How do they sleep at night? Probably very well, because they don't have consciences.
Companies like this only see the bottom line and not the people who are working for them. It's such a shame.

I couldn't keep going to work there. That is so awful. How are your previous partners handling this? They have to be upset as well.

Everyone is really upset. We all know that if they discontinue her coverage, that's it, it's completely over for her. She cannot work due to her disability and because of the pre-existing condition, she'll never qualify again for coverage. She's already depressed as it is because of the illness, I'm scared what this news will do to her.
I'm actively searching for a new job, and everyday that I wake up and drag myself to work, I am nauseaus and ready to cry the second I walk in the door. It amazes me that I could go from having the job of my dreams, to the worst nightmare I could ever fathom. I have no respect for these people and I wish to god I could just tell them what I think of them, but then again, (a) they could care less because I'm a "lowly associate" and (b) I can't burn any bridges.
The former partners are VERY upset, that's why they offered to pay the premiums. Everyone is very disillusioned right now.
And to add flames to the fire - I found out this elusive review that we were supposed to be given in October, which would provide another raise to bring us closer to the level of compensation taht their other employees are getting, is NOT happening. The next review isn't until October 2007, so I'm supposed to put in 2100 billable hours for an entire year, yet get paid 40% less than an entry level associate. The last three months I've been working like a dog with the hope that they would see that I'm can put out the work and thus compensate me during the October review. And to think of all the time I sacrificed with Alex for nothing
I put out a few resumes, but no word back yet... PLEASE send over job dust my way!
