Total Ounces
Do you follow the rule of 2.5ounces of formula for every pound? My dd (7 weeks old) just started going 6-8 hours at night, but doesn't seem to be making up those ounces during the day. Just want to ensure she is getting enough.

At 7 weeks, DD was taking 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. What is your DD getting total?

Nope. Always fed on demand and till full. Sometimes she wanted more sometimes less.

It's a guideline. I used it to figure out what to offer but fed on demand

It's not a rule. DS always took more than that and I never worried. He ate til he was full and never even got chubby.

That is very generalized. Sometimes dd took more, sometimes less. I always offered more and she took until she was done. As long as they are gaining and growing....

I feed on demand and go from there. My DS is 3mo and takes 4-6ox per feeding.

I'm feeding on demand as well- I just wanted to make sure she was getting enough as she is still take the same amount (between 2.5-3.5oz) every 3-4 hours. She had been doing that through the night too, but the last 3 nights she has sleep 6-8 hours with no bottle. I wasn't sure if she should be making up those ounces during the day. I guess if she isn't hungry, then it's ok.
