BAD diaper rash...calendula ointment?
has anyone ever used calendula ointment for a BAD diaper rash?
i have tried everything out there (every diaper cream-over the counter and prescription, baths with baking soda, no diapers for a while, etc...)
i was just reading online and saw an article mention it. but i have never heard of anyone using it before. i know people rave about the cream for dry skin so i am wondering if the ointment will work as well for a rash!

Re: BAD diaper rash...calendula ointment?
Have you tried cortisone? Twice a day with Desitin Max on top of it (Desitin at every diaper change). And stop using wipes entirely. Warm water on a soft cloth only. You should see improvement within 24 hours.
ETA: Use the cloth (or a soft paper towel) with warm water, then dab dry with a soft cloth, like a wash cloth. We bought natural cloths on Amazon but it's not necessary. Then apply the cortisone with a heavy coat of Desitin Max on top. DS had a diaper rash for over a month and we tried everything. This was what finally worked.

I use calendula for dry skin and it is great. I don't have any experience for the diaper area though. Probably doesn't hurt to try!

Have you tried switching diapers? Also don't wash down there just keep the area covered with a lotion. Diaper rash sucks.

Neosporin with desatin max has worked in the past but DD has a bad one now and its not working!! There is one that was recommended that is OTC but behind the pharmacy counter. I'm going to try that next.

My dermatologist also recommended no wipes after a wet diaper at all, just tissue. Desitin Max and triple paste worked for mine, even bad broken skin. A friend of mine recommends Columbia Powder. They have it at pharmacies behind their pharmacy counter. It's OTC, but don't keep it out.
