If you're a scheduled c-section...

Do you tell people your actual due date or just generalize it?

I'm due August 8th but will be scheduling a section sometime before that. Should I just be saying "the beginning of August" when people ask me when I'm due?

It's a minor detail, but one that's been on my mind (you know, because I have NOTHING else to occupy my thinking Chat Icon )

haha i totally thought about the same thing!! when people ask i just say, "i'm having a scheduled csection on april 7th"

then that usually goes into a whole bunch of "oh really? why are you doing that to yourself" type comments/questions lol

I tell close people my due date, and then say but I'll
Prob have a c the week before.

I tell random people my actual due date and skip the c-section part.

If you're a scheduled c-section...

I would just tell your due date. its no different than if you were waiting to go naturally. No one really knows their due date and for a sch c you won't know fo a long time and it can get changed.

Re: If you're a scheduled c-section...

I told people my due date and decided not to share my scheduled csection date with too many people till the day of. I wanted to be able to surprise people that I was in the hospital ready to go.

Eta: I was carrying HUGE to the point strangers thought I was ready to pop when I was just 5 months. I got lots of rude comments that I would never make it to my date and that my baby would be huge. Ultimately for strangers I'd just say... The summer .. Or I'd say August. Then I'd get people looking shocked and they would be like, "I hope you mean the beginning of August!!!".... To which I replied, "yup!".

I was due August 25th and made it to my scheduled csection and my baby was an average weight. People are dumb Chat Icon

Re: If you're a scheduled c-section...

I told people my due date. I only told immediate family the scheduled date once I got it because I wanted there to be an element of surprise for others.
