Woke up last night unable to breath
I am 38 weeks. i woke up feeling like I could not breath. I felt like I was breathing normal but I didn't feel like i was getting enough air. My heart was racing. I was terrified. Is this an anxiety attack? Anyone else experience this?

Re: Woke up last night unable to breath
That's how I get during an anxiety attack. I know for a fact I am breathing, but can't seem to fill my lungs with enough oxygen to feel "satisfied" if that makes sense, which causes me to panic even more. It sucks.

Thanks for replying. i wonder what caused it. I was seriously so afraid i would pass out. But like you said, I knew I was breathing, it just didn't make my lungs satisfied.

I usually never know what brings mine on - they seemingly come out of nowhere. If I'm laying down, I have to get up and do some serious stretching to open my lungs back up. I've used my albuterol inhaler in the past, it seems to help.

Hard to say for sure it was an anxiety attack being 38 weeks pregnant cna leave you breathless and heart racing for other reasons, but yes that is what they feel like! I would breath fine but never felt "satisfied" with each breath I would try to suck in harder but not get enough oxygen. Also my heart would race. They stink (and usually happen at night or first thing when you wake up)
