Road trip to Williamsburg-need advice
My niece has decided that she doesn't want a sweet 16, but would like a trip with friends. I told my sister to use one of our timeshares and take them to Williamsburg to Busch Gardens and Water Country. She loves the idea, but my sister has a big issue with driving over big bridges (Delaware Water Gap). Is there a way to drive down and avoid any big bridges? She's thinking maybe the ferry from Cape May to Deleware? And advice would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure that you still have to go over the Delaware Bridge. Once you get down into the eastern shore of VA you have to go over the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Its very long (20 miles?) & consists of 2 tunnels & a low bridges over the water. She might be better going through DC & down 95. I always go the eastern shore so I can't tell you how it is going through DC.

It would be going rather out of your way, but you could go into pa and take 81 south to Virginia. The positive to this is that there is often little to no traffic on 81.
