Birth Control while BF?
What does everyone use? I asked my OB about the options but none of them sound very good. I was using BF as birth control but that's not going to work anymore.

Birth Control while BF?
I've been breast feeding for 16mos and got my period 3mos pp. so definitely not a great birth control for someone like me!

Birth Control while BF?
My ob said an iud or the mini pill. We opted for condoms as of now. We feel like we just started dating :)

its a nightmare. i hate all of the options. had mirena put in about 7 weeks pp and took it out two days later because it started poking me. awful. tried condoms but i really hate them. now we are using the mini pill and condoms just to be extra safe (my younger DD is 6 months), and i hate that too. the mini pill blows because u need to take it at the same time every day, and for me, a mom of a 2 year old and a baby, that is nearly impossible. hence, the condoms. i just wish there were a better option

Ugh, yes I would say not! I only trusted it because I researched the LAM method extensively, followed the rules to a t. Also, we were ok with an oops if it were to happen. Otherwise, I know this isn't the most effective method!

This is where I am but I'm not even bothering trying an IUD (it's just not for me). No good options!
I wish I could just use the regular pill but my OB says it will kill my milk supply.

I used the mini pill. Didn't end up getting AF till DD was 15 months and down to nursing once a day.

My doctor suggested condoms
She didn't recommend an iud bc we wanted to have a second within a year or two. And she never mentioned the mini pill - when I asked about it she said some of the hormones can be secreted through breast milk so I never bothered to research it more. Turns out a few friends used the mini pill while bfing and had no problems, maybe my Ob is just old fashioned who knows
Dh and I figured we would take our chances until I got my period and then be more careful since the odds were slim to get pregnant. 6 months after dd was born while breast feeding I got pregnant - I never got my period so had no clue that I was ovulating
My lo's will be 15 months apart

Birth Control while BF?
I went on the mini pill immediately after my 6 week PP appointment after both my babies. The only issue I had was some breakthrough bleeding once my period came back, but I know it's because I didn't take it at the same time every day. Other than that, I was very happy with it. I only stopped taking it each time when we decided to TTC again and got pregnant first month off both times.
