Please don't beat yourself up! I gained a LOT of weight when I was pregnant. I really didn't feel like I was going crazy either. I'd have a week where I would be really good and eat really healthy and still gain 2 lbs. Then another week I'd say forget it, I'll eat what I want - and not gain anything lol. I made myself crazy. By the time DS was 6 weeks old I had lost more than half of the weight without even trying. Eventually I ended up weighing 20 lbs LESS than I did when I got pregnant. I know how hard it is to see that stupid scale go up at every appointment and feel disappointed. But it WILL come off. Try to enjoy your pregnancy and don't make yourself nuts.

You don't know what you will gain for the balance. I gained 90% of my weight in the first 1/2 of my pregnancy.

I agree with the previous poster. My weight gain was pretty much in line with how many weeks I was! So at 20 weeks I was up 20+ lbs! It got hard when I hit 30 weeks and the scale just kept going up! I also left the hospital about 20lbs lighter; and by 4 weeks pp I was down 35lbs. The last 15 came off over time and I did weight watchers to loose the last bit. I was very emotional about it while I was pregnant. But looking back it was what my body needed. I didn't go crazy eating and I was still active so I think it's just they way it is.

Awww please dont get upset about it. I didnt gain at first and ended up gaining it all towards the second half of the pregnancy. My bf gained in the first half and not the second.

You are carrying another beautiful lil life in that belly. Dont worry. It will come off after the baby is here. Im thinner now than i was pre-pregnancy!

Dont worry its all apart of being pregnant. Most important is give in to some of your cravings theres a reason your body is craving it. Take care of yourself. Try to eat healthy. And do some prenatal work outs if you can. If you cant them still dont worry! I didnt do any because i medically coild not and i still had a healthy pregnancy. And most important a healthy baby.

Re: weights got me down

ive accepted that i just gain a lot during pregnancy. I dont eat bad and I dont drink soda.
with dd1 i gained 60plus and with dd2 now I'm up with about a pound a week sometimes more.
Im also going to be the one to say that I didnt lose my weight that fast after dd1 was born. I actually gained after birth. (i had pp pre eclamp hypertension)
It def wasnt easy but the weight came off. Everyone is different. I wouldnt stress too much about it!

As long as you and your baby are healthy that is the only thing that matters. Weight comes off. I gained about 55lbs. I lost 19 of it by the time I came home from the hospital. 39 of it by 3 weeks. Some people just gain a lot and carry bigger, like me. I'm back to my petite self shortly after.

I thought it was 1lb per week?
I got weighed in at 37weeks and I was 40lbs! LOL But I also had her less than 10hrs later so its all fair. Plus they kept telling me I carried a LOT of amibotic(?) fluid.

Re: weights got me down

Don't stress it. I gained a lot of weight my first trimester and then it really slowed down at the end. I was also up 20 lbs at about 24 weeks. I gained 40 total. It will come off after.

Your body will gain what it needs to, to sustain a healthy pregnancy.

Re: weights got me down

don't worry. I had gained a lot of weight by that point in my pregnancy last year too. By the end I'd gained a total of 52 pounds! However, I've lost all but 5 pounds of it and my DD is 7 months. I actually lost most of it by 5 months post partum. I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: weights got me down

That seems totally normal to me. I was 20#'s at 20 weeks and gained around 35-40 pounds total. The actual pounds came off pretty quick ( and I wasn't exercising or anything) but my body still isn't the same regardless. You are growing a human, weight and body changes are to be expected, don't get down on yourself!

Your body does whatever it wants. I think I was up the same as you at that point. I think I also retained a lot of water weight. I gained 55lbs. total with DS and only had 16lbs to lose by dieting. And my stomach was pretty flat after. Both things I was scared of with the weight gain and it was fine. So yeah try not to be hard on yourself!
