Toddler obsessing over nosies

Is this normal??

My 20 month old has always had amazing hearing. She points out a dog barking in the distance that no one else would notice. She notices every noise from the fan on the fridge turning off, helicopters in the distance, garbage trucks, someone's phone making a noise, etc. Sometimes she points it out and that's it but a lot of the time she seems so stuck on it and keeps repeating it rather than going back to what she was doing. Forget vacuums, kitchen appliances, hair dryers, etc. She has to see them and obsess over them until they are done and put away and will often still talk about them long after they are away. Tell me this is normal toddler stuff and she'll grow out of it.Chat Icon It's a long way off but I do wonder if she's going to face a lot of distractions when she goes to school if this doesn't fade as she gets older.

My DS is the same (19months). We get told about every noise, bark, meow, etc and stand in the middle of the street during a walk till the airplane is completely gone (can take 10 minutes), I hope its normalChat Icon They clearly have better hearing then we do, its impressive

Omg, I just had this conversation with my mom this morning! DD is 15 months and the same way. The garbage truck was around this morning and she spent a good 10 minutes after it pulled away imitating the sounds --vrrrooooom, boom boom and saying truck over and over! I am hoping it is bc these are sounds she can imitate, words she knows, it's like a "conversation" she can initiate, idk. But yes, she hears everything!

Oh yes the airplanes, lol. She goes on forever telling us that the airplane flew away once it finally is gone. In the fall the repaved our street and she was planted at the front window for days telling us about every truck.
