I need some summer ideas w kids

We've been to Hershey, Dutch wonderland, etc

This summer, I'm thinking a beach vacation within driving distance with kids.

I have a 4 and 5 yo. Any ideas? Also where to stay (rent house or hotel)

Like to go for a week, and be able drive.

We have rented a house in Niantic for the past two years. We really like the Black Pointe community. The beaches are small, community beaches with no waves. My boys spend hours crabbing off the rocks. It has it's own cute town with a small children's museum, ice cream shops, little restaurants and the BEST used book store ever! The one in town has more children books. The one out of town is awesome with a bunch if small barns full of books. The one out of town has a little playground and some animals for the kids to feed. It's 25 minutes from Mystic, about 40 minutes from Newport. If you want a beach with waves and a boardwalk you can hi to Westerly, RI. I absolutely love that whole area.

How about Rhode Island?
My family always drove to Ocean City Maryland when I was kid. It's a long drive, but totally doable with some great places to stay and tons of stuff to do.
