baby name help
If we have a boy, my dh likes Joseph. My boys now are Anthony an Nicholas. My cousins son, who is 12, is named Joseph. i hardly see them and i think the only time we get together is Christmas day. Is it against any rules to name my child Joseph? lol. Do I have to ask my cousin first?

Name that baby Joseph. My sister named her boy Lucas and we found out recently that one of my (pretty distant) cousins named her LO Lucas. No biggie. We don't see them often at all.

I have a huge Italian family where 1 out of every 3 kids is Anthony. If you like it go for it!

Re: baby name help
I used the same name as my 2nd cousins son.
The name I used was my grandfather and DH's grandfathers name, but even if I just liked the name, I see them a couple times a year, live an hour away, not enough of a reason for me not to use a name, if it were a close relation then I would not.

Thanks ladies. I like the name too. It is the only boy name we have agreed on. I just feel funny. My family used to be close, long before kids and such. i hardly know her kids aside from pictures on fb and Christmas. My aunt made a big deal when my sister named her son Alexander bc her daughters name is Alexandria (our cousin). Should I ask my cousin first, if it is ok with her?

I wouldn't ask - its a name, she doesn't own it. If she has a problem with it - its her problem. You have to do what is right for you.

I think it's a common enough name that it's bound to be used by other family members. I wouldn't ask.
