Did anyone NOT do the NT scan at 12 weeks and why?
I had it, but my OB mentioned its not mandatory and if you don't want to know anything then you don't have to do it.

We opted out. I have very strong anti-termination feelings, I wouldn't do any further testing (an amnio) if it did come back with a high risk of Downs or anything else, and I am a special education teacher, so I didn't feel the need to prepare too much if I were to have a child with a disability. That is my world, kwim? For me, it would have just stressed me out.
I get why people do it, but for me, it wasn't something I was interested in because it wouldn't change anything for us.

I didn't do it because I was having an amino so my dr said this would be a waste.

I didn't have it. I don't believe the stress of that test is worth it. So many bad results for no reason.
I did decide on an amnio.

It wasn't even offered to me. When I asked my doc about it he suggested an amnio, but I didn't do that either.

Had one with dc#1 and results were positive 1:23 chance for downs. I was stressed for four weeks while I waited to get an amino and then wait for results. In the end ds was fine. I refused to go through that again and opted out. I did take the maternity test (wasn't around the first go round) and it gave me the all clear.

I had it done. I wanted as much information as possible. Even if you do not want further testing or would not terminate in the event that you are at high risk you can be prepared before the baby arrives.
