cervical length
i have my 20 week scan later and just noticed the dr marked off to check the cervical length can that be done with the normal over the belly ultrasound or do they have to do the internal for that? im drawing a blank - i know my dr does it internally in her office, but typically its bc that is all she is checking

The most accurate way is transvaginally

At my 20 week they did it transvaginally. The rest of the measurements were on the belly.

Re: cervical length
They can check your cervix during the 20 week scan by looking at your stomach. No internal needed.

Mine was done internally bc as pp stated it is most accurate. It can be measured with an abdominal ultrasound.
