Crayola Factory

We will be in PA (camelback) for a week in January and I am thinking about making the 45min drive to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. Looks like fun but I don't know anyone who has ever been and would love to know if it is worth it?

DS is 3.5 and crayon/marker/drawing obsessed but is there anything interesting for a one year old?

Would love some insight/suggestions!

Re: Crayola Factory

Your older one will love it. There are a few things for a 1 yr old. To make markers you just press the buttons as they light up and watch the marker made. There's also a section to play with modeling dough, write on glowing dry erase boards, color, a giant light up peg board. If she can walk and hold a crayon/scribble she'll be okay if you help her. There are 3 levels with activities and we spent about an hour on each level.

Both my older girls loved it- DD1 is almost 4 and DD2 JUST turned 2.

ETA- maybe try to go at least partially during the younger one's nap time (if she will nap in a stroller). There's a lot for her to look at- but most of the "doing" is better for the older one.

thank you both!

besides the admission fee, what I am looking at spending for the extras? I've read some reviews about them charging extra for EVERYTHING?

We took my DD at 17 months and then again at 2.5. She loves it there. This past summer at 2.5 she could even do more, so I'd say your DS will really enjoy it at his age.
The cartoon photo thing was free for us too. That's my favorite exhibit!

Crayola Factory

Since they've changed it I do not think its worth the money at all.

I am so glad that they changed that policy and they reopened the show. IMO that makes it more worth it than when we went. I would go and have a great time.

Re: Crayola Factory

When we went they gave each person 3 tokens. There are 3 activities that use tokens, so it was enough. We actually had 2 different people hand us their leftover tokens as we were leaving as well.

The "how crayons are made" show was open and cute and the make your own picture coloring page was free.

I will say that it was really empty when we went so we had a great experience. When my sister went over the summer it was overcrowded and she didn't enjoy it.
