Motorola Baby Monitor

So our Motorola video baby monitor stopped holding its charge last night. I just spoke to Motorola and they're sending me a new one since its under warranty -- except in 7-10 days. YIKES! I can't go that long without a working monitor!

Has anyone had this happen and know if another AC adapter I could use in the meantime. The camera and console seems fine - its just the AC adapter.

Thanks!!

You could buy one from BRU in store and use until you get your new one, then return. BRU is good with returns especially if you get it back into the box nicely.

bring the monitor and cord to radio shack - they will be able to sell you another cord for relatively cheap. but they need to see the current one so they give you the correct size - we had to do this with DDs swing

It happened to me. I think that it's the unit itself and not the cord. In the meantime when I was waiting, I went to Walmart and bought a cheaper version of a monitor for a bit and then returned. Maybe not what everyone would do, but I had gotten so used to using the video monitor.

Edited since I misread the original post.

If you leave it plugged in, does it work?

This is happening to us now. I am so annoyed with this monitor. We've already replaced it once because the sound just stopped working one night. Motorola sent us a new one and not even 4 months later this one won't hold a charge.

We recently started using this monitor and am finding that it doesn't last long before having to recharge. We are just leaving it on the charger. Totally stinks given how pricey it is.

Thanks everyone. I was able to use the plug from my cordless phone and that seems to work for now. I went to radio shack and they had an ac adapter but the guy said it's not the charger but the unit. Argh. I did end up going to bru and getting a $80 monitor for &40 (gotta love Xmas eve sales) but it's he bru brand and I know nothing about it. However it's just a back up in the event the phone charger stops working while I wait for the replacement monitor.

The whole thing is so annoying considering how $ the monitor is, oh and yes it happend on Xmas eve!

Re: Motorola Baby Monitor

It doesn't hold charge at all? I think it only holds for 3-4 hrs. I keep mine plugged in overnight and turn off and unplug in the day.

I've been having the same issue. Called motorola and they said it's the receiver as well. Super annoying considering how expensive this thing is and the fact that I just bought it in October. I haven't received my new one from them yet so I am making do by scotch taping the plug into the unit at night so at least it charges.

How long is the warranty and did you have to prove when you purchased it? Mine stopped working too less than a year after I bought it...both cameras! That thing was so expensive.

Mine was a gift and was purchased from my registry. I told them its 9 months old and that since it was a gift I don't have a receipt. They didn't question me further. The warranty is for a year. All I will have to do is return the old one in the packaging materials they

The sound on the parent unit stopped working. I called and the sent a new one ( refurbished I'm guessing). The parent hint worked but the camera didn't. It was so dark I couldn't see anything at night. I called again and this time they sent just a camera. It works. They didn't send a packing slip to ship it back this time so I kept it and leave it at my inlaws house. We stay there often. And for there just for sound for my older dd.
They were really good about and mine was over a year old.

Me too. Guess I'm calling them back a third time and requesting yet another monitor.

Third times a charm?
