Do you have to get Magicbands at Disney?
Feelings about them?
How well do they work for kids?

Are you on site or off? And what hotel?
Right now all the values are only getting MBs. No KTTW. I believe you can opt out for a key BUT I understand you lose some privileges. Right now mods and deluxes can use FP+ and old FP at 3 parks but expect that to change at anytime because it is testing stage and anything could happen. They are testing in AK now and there are no FP machines now. Off property goes to kiosks to schedule FP+ the day of only. Otherwise for now...they can only use old FP in the other 3 parks.
Is there a reason to not get the bands? I have mixed feelings. I hate being limited to 3 in one park and tiering at HS and Epcot...but with FP running out some days early morning at least you have three you hopefully want.
Off site at this time do not get bracelets...but I understand they might be able to buy them down the road ....just not now.

We just got ours in the mail and they seem to be secure. You can activate/deactivate from the Disney app plus you can report it lost on there so if it were to get lost, I'm sure they'd have you up And running quickly.

This... I hear they are pretty good. They don't give kids charging...Mine were not but got cards before the bands. They have sliders you can get to help them stay on.

We haven't been since they implemented them. Not a fan though, since I know my DD had a hard time wearing the kids club band on the Disney cruise. She hated it. My son won't wear the band all day, he would be playing with it, and likely lose it.

I have heard you don't have to wear them. Some attach them to belt loops, purse straps or in their pockets. A friend said their kids hate park bands but were ok with these. I haven't seen them in person yet but will be ordering ours soon. They do have sliders which keep them from falling off.

I would just hold your kids bands. They will only need them to enter the park, and any FP they are tall enough for. There is no reason for them to wear them all day. I rarely wore mine b/c it doesn't fit well around your wrist (due to the large chip in it that doesn't bend) and it got all sweaty and gross after I wore it awhile (85* Florida humidity!). We don't put a credit card on ours so I barely needed it.

OH I would get one though b/c soon this will be the ONLY choice, so its best to get used to it now.

You don't have to wear them. You can put them in your pocket or attach them to a belt loop or just throw them in your bag.
My 3 year old cousin hates wearing things so we just kept his in our backpack until we needed it and my husband kept his in his pocket the whole time.
