Re: girls pregnant with #2 (or 3, 4...)

Omg yes! This is number three for me. I had epidural with first and felt nothing. So I had it pretty easy. So I wasn't scared the second time around.
I went to hospital with my second nice a calm. By the time I went in I was 5cm and went really fast from there. I got an epidural but it hardly did anything. It only worked on one side. Once it was time to push I wound up feeling everything. I had no idea how much pain that would be.
Now I'm scared with my third that it will go that fast again and I won't have time for epidural.
Contractions where nothing to me compared to pushing that head out.

I give everyone so much credit for going drug-free especially first time around. I had to push for 2 hours with my first. At least the second was only about 20 minutes.

I'm mostly nervous that I'll have to go drug-free Chat Icon I was a big fan of the epi. With a few of my friends, their labor progressed so quickly with #2 (+) that they ended up missing out on the chance for it and just made it to the hospital in time. I was induced last time because I was over 41w and it went textbook smooth. I'm a little nervous about "going on my own" this time, since I didn't experience the whole feeling- contractions-at-home bit.

I had an amazing l&d with #1 - i stayed at home until 5cm, got the epi at 6 and was inly in labor at the hospital for 4 hours. it was great
I'm so nervous that labor with #2 is going to be hard and that I won't be able to get the epi
I give all you ladies credit that go drug free - I wouldn't say no to the epi Chat Icon

I am scared shiitless this time around. I am so worried about not being able to get an epi in time and having to do it naturally. I am not looking to go down as super woman that day, I much prefer being a druggie Chat Icon

I also am dreading the contractions and getting through them as they progress.

All of this stuff was just thoughts about how it would/could feel the first time around. The second time it's all too familiar and nothing to look forward to.

Yes, I'm so much more nervous this time. I had to be induced at 38 weeks with DS1, I had high bp almost my entire pregnancy and at 37.5 weeks the highest dose of meds stooped working. So far this pregnancy no bp issues at all so I'm nervous about how I'm going to feel at like 39 and 40 weeks since I've never been there before. Also on edge about not knowing when or where my water will break. Mostly I'm just worried about being away from DS1 and how he's going to be.

Re: girls pregnant with #2 (or 3, 4...)

With dd#1 my labor started early in the morning and I progressed at a steady pace. I had plenty of time to finish packing, take a shower, check in, and get my epidural but there wasn't a lot of "down time" in between.

With dd#2 we'll have a longer drive to the hospital (around 40 min) and will also have to make arrangements for dd#1 and make sure she's settled with whomever while I'm in labor. I hate not knowing how to plan/schedule everything so that everyone can get where they're going with as little stress as possible.

I'm also nervous that there won't be time for an epidural. In my eyes, modern medicine is a blessing so whether that means tylenol for a headache or an epi during delivery I'm all for it. If it weren't for my epidural with dd#1 I would have wound up with a c section after tearing and pushing for four hours (she was born sunny side up).
