Re: Child Birth classes
We are taking a 4 hour class at our house in early Jan...I am due Feb. 26th. I wanted it a safe distance from my due date because I know some people who went at like 36 weeks, and I want to get the class in before!

We're taking Bradley at our house. It's a 12-hour course, split into 4 sessions. We started at 28 weeks and will end around 36-37 weeks.

Re: Child Birth classes
We took one when I was pregnant with DS and at the time it seemed super justified... He was my first, I didn't know what the heck I was doing and there was a tour of the hospital at the end. Let me tell you, all of this flew out the window during labor! I was induced for like 36 hours and then when the full strength of the contractions came, I was so paralyzed with pain that their stupid focus points and ball rubbing was the furthest thing from my demon possessed mind! And what if I ended up having a c-section, again useless... I would much rather just take the much cheaper hospital tour and be done with it. I would also take child CPR and watch a few caring for newborns DVDs and call it a day. Unless you are super high tolerant to pain and are fully prepared to go as natural possible, I would say save yourself the $100+!

Re: Child Birth classes
i totally agree with jbaby but to answer your question, i took it with DD last year - i did the three session one that was in December (last class was mid december) and my due date was 2/8 everyone suggested doing it closer to my due date (the january session) but bc of new years the jan session ended late jan and i didnt want to chance missing a class bc dd arrived early.

Re: Child Birth classes
We took Bradley Method classes with my last pregnancy and it was seriously the best thing we could have done. I was hoping for a drug free birth which didn't happen but I was so happy how educated I was going into the birthing process. I speak to so many women who have no clue what goes on and just expect that the doctors always know what is best. I fully trusted my Dr but I wanted to be educated so that I could understand what was going on and so that I could have a say in my medical decisions. I learned so much!

This. It is truly amazing how little so many people know and how they put 100% of their faith in their doctors, nurses and hospital. It's helpful to know if something is off, if something is done for their own interest - not yours, etc.

Child Birth classes
def not taking Lamaze. Don't see the point. I am already taking Pilates and Yoga where I learn to breath for exrcising and healthy pregnancy purposes, also the nurses tell u what to do when ur in labor. I do plan on taking baby CPR and baby caring class as I have no idea what to do with a baby or how to change diapers even LOL I am due in mid June, so was thinking like March/April? no idea need to ask the Dr again

We offer amazing childbirth education classes. We don't just cover Lamaze and breathing techniques, but the use of epidurals and pain medications, body mechanics, role of your coach, and what to expect before, during, and after labor. It is good to talk to other couples as well to hear questions that you might not have thought to ask. We also do a baby reunion!!! Many of our moms go on to do other classes such as New Moms Group. We also offer infant and child CPR, breastfeeding, and many other classes. Call us or visit our website for more information. CFA- 631-360-2880
