Car seat for a Chevy Cruze
Does anyone have a cruze? We want a convertible car seat for my husbands car ( I will have the infant carrier in mine) but I know it's a smaller car and don't know what will fit. Any advice will be great. TIA

send FM to carseat chris. He can tell you the best seat for the car. But if you have an infant why not just buy another base and ge tthe convertibles later on.

If you make a post with what car you have, the stats for your child and your budget they will give you great information and advice on what seat is best. And they'll answer quick too. All of the administrators are certified car seat installers and they REALLY know their stuff! !

I also find the Car Seat Lady's info to be informative as well.

Thanks for the advice. I actually did this about 2 weeks back and once person, not an admin responded. I must have posted at a bad time.

Definitely ask again. And bump if you don't get an admin response. That is not the norm on there.

Car seat lady is great!
I am waiting for there to be a local training to become a certified installer. I want to take it. That way when I say things to family members and friends I have the credential to back it up. I swear I say things now and I get looked at like I'm crazy! !

depending on the infant carrier, you may not even need a base. most dont require one, and the seat is just as safe as if you were using the latch.

Techs in NY do not recommend the site as they will not allow discussion from other professionals in the field. Their recommendations are not based on car specifics.

This was all taken care of. When people have questions like this, always include the child and vehicle information.
Nassau Traffic Safety will be continuing assisting with installations through the winter as we have an indoor heated facility.

Thanks Allison. That was our original plan but we have a lot going on so if we can save a few dollars that's the plan.
You can install most infant seats without a base - a base just makes it easier since it stays put and you just have to snap it in.

Really dumb question. The infant carrier without the base needs to be secured without baby in the seat, correct

No - in - the belt threads through each side so they would have to be in first. It's hard for me to explain but, there should be directions in your manual or online.

I do not encourage the use of a carrier without the base. It is not safe for the majority of vehicles on the road as most cannot secure the seat properly or easily.

If you want specific instructions for your car and your seat fm me - I do not encourage doing this, but if you choose to let me explain the specific method for your car.

Thank you for being so helpful. I'm going to use the base for my car and get the one you recommended for my husbands Cruze.
