ahh scale!!

ok so at my last appt. I had gained a total of 7 pounds (19 weeks 3 days) well just for fun (ya right lol) I jumped on the scale this morning (21 weeks) and according to it I have gained another 5 pounds!!!
Is that even possible to gain 5 pounds in 2 weeks ! I wanted to cry, I actually redid it three times haha
my diet hasn't changed in the last 3 weeks other then I ate Chinese food twice lol
if I keep gaining like this I will be like 50 pounds up!! no way im doing that again * I gained 50 with my 1st and swore I wouldn't let that happen again* My goal was to only gain 30 this time around.. AHHH

your body gains what it needs. I truly believe you can only control it to a point.

that's how I thought with my 1st except I didn't lose it lol. I gained 50 and lost 20 after dd was born then gained 15 more lol I eventually lost it almost 2 years after she was born though lol. So im trying to not let that happen again.
Don't get me wrong im not dieting or anything just more aware of what I am eating and how much im gaining this time,

Scales could be different. But, try not to forget that you are growing a human being inside of you, so weight gain is to be expected. I gained about 50 pounds total during my pregnancy - I was up like 20 pounds by 20 weeks. No biggie - I lost it all within 3 month pp!

I love you for saying you lost it quickly. I am up 30 lbs and scared I won't be able to lose it.

Re: ahh scale!!

Honestly, I refused to even look at the scale.
I would close my eyes or turn around and tell the nurse not to announce it- just tell the Dr to address it with me should there be any issues with my weight gain.
He never said a word.
I was so swollen that I know I was probably up a ton of weight- even though I carried tiny and didn't look pregnant from behind etc.
But why let that number depress me, you know? I knew it was all fluid.

And for the record, I was in my jeans a week after giving birth- and my bikini as well.
Don't get too caught up in numbers on a scale.
It really means nothing- as long as your Dr is ok with your weight gain etc

Re: ahh scale!!

I am 24 weeks this Wednesday and gain 5 lbs in the past month. I am just under 20lbs gained. I am in trouble these next few weeks but after that I need to get back to focusing on veggies and fruit before chocolate and cookies.

ahh scale!!

I have the same issue. I am up about 20 pounds in 20 weeks. I gained 55 lbs with DD 1. I lost 40 of it. I swore I would be more careful this time but obviously I'm headed on the same trend. I don't know what to do.
