What to bring on plane for 1 yr old?
Actually my daughter is 14 months and we have a 4.5 hour flight next week. We have flown before and she has done well but she is so squirmy now and just wants to get down and crawl! I am packing:
A lot of snacks Bottle Lollipops New toy New books A magazine for her to crumple up (lol) DVD player and movies Maybe an etch-a-sketch? Not sure if she will get it. Blue painters tape to play with lol (someone on a blog suggested this) Nesting cups Pipe cleaners Wikkistix (does anyone know where to buy these?)
Geez I am going to need a huge bag for all of this!
Am I missing anything? I wish I could think of something small but good that will keep her entertained for awhile.

A small magnadoodle may be better than the etch a sketch. My 19 month old loves hers and loves when we draw her things she can recognize. What about a coloring book with crayons and stickers. We've had a few dinners out recently and these two kept her occupied the best. I would probably try for a portable dvd player too. That's really the only thing that's worked for DD on long car trips.

DD got constipated when we traveled so I'd bring some juice or at least buy it at the airport to drink on the plane. Drinking during take up and landing will help with the pressure changes too.

The only thing that worked for us was the DVD player...and lots of DVDs to go with it. I brought books etc but those didn't last long.

iPad was our savior. We made sure she had a ton of games on it. We were on a 3.5-4 hr flight and she was passed between us and the grandparents quite often bc she was squirmy as well!

Any other ideas? DD only watches show for like 15 min and then loses interest. We have iPhones but not a iPad and she doesn't play with it. I am doomed!

I would test out the portable DVD player with her before you go - we flew with DS for that long when he was 13 months and he only wanted to close the dvd player...
The magnadoodle was a hit.
Really - his favorite thing to do was to open and close the window shade and walk around the plane lol!
Good luck - I found that age the most challenging to fly since they are exhibiting their newfound freedom.

I saw some of the smaller magnadoodles in the target dollar bins today for $3.
Maybe some of those little magnetic dress up sets, the M&D water wow books, some ribbons to pull through a small wipes case. This blog has tons of simple ideas for different ages.
