Morning Sickness..Remedies!

Officially got morning sickness and all that goes with it this morning at about 6 weeks. I haven't had breakfast yet and just feel nauseous in general.

What are the best things that have helped others? Might be too early for ginger ale. I got some cereal, but after one spoon I can't stomach it.

definitely make sure to eat at least a little right away. DH used to make me snacks for the train.
Ginger ale - the real root, no carb drink that doesn't work. u cut it into little pieces and chew. Instantaneous release. My RE swore by it so DH was buying it by the oodles. It really works. The only thing that really absolutely worked for me.

saltines, ginger ale and Bigelow's Lemon Ginger tea (it has ginger root in it) are the only things that helped me

Re: Morning Sickness..Remedies!

I found that when I didn't eat, that's when I got nauseous. Try to have something small and light like toast in the morning. Avoid an empty stomach!!

Morning Sickness..Remedies!

I keep a fan on my desk at work and would have it blow in my face as I took slow, deep breaths. Most of the times it would pass but sometimes, it just felt better to throw up.

Re: Morning Sickness..Remedies!

I'm still battling Morning Sickness -- nothing worked for me -- crackers/saltines, ginger ale.

I would literally yak, feel better, yak, feel better -- up to 6-7 times per day.

After 10 weeks of it - they put me on zofran b/c I couldn't even keep water/gatorade down.

That has helped DRAMATICALLY. Went from 6/7 x per day down to 1/2.

Week 22 and I get it a few times a week (2/3 at most), but I've stopped taking zofran unless I feel it's absolutely necessary.

spoonfulls of gatorade (no big gulps) + small meals frequently helped (I mean 1/2 a sandwich at that) every two hours, alternating w/snacks like carrots, salads, breadstick, etc.

Thanks all. Around lunch time, i went and got some brown rice, and some salsa and corn chips. I've been able to eat that. Don't know how long it will last or stay in my stomach, but atleast I can eat something and then hopefully more later tonight.

I found ginger candies, so will suck on those things throughout the day.

This. The nausea for me tends to happen first thing in the morning before I've eaten so I would try to eat a couple of crackers or a rice cake as soon as I woke up. Like, before getting in the shower or anything. That would help. And definitely snack throughout the day. Eating something every few hours to keep your stomach from being empty is key. At least it was for me! I know my cousin had very severe MS and had to take Zofran almost her entire pregnancy!

Anything sour, lemon drops and mint gum always settled my stomach. Feel better! I had it for 22 weeks but it wasn't as bad as some. I would vomit in the morning and be fine the rest of the day after about 8 weeks

Preggie pops!

Once my MS started, I went to BRU and stocked up on these. DID NOT WORK! I was so disappointed b/c most people said they work.

Re: Morning Sickness..Remedies!

I kept crackers next to my bed and if I woke up in the night I would have one. Didn't help though. I ended up on Zofran and still get sick if I don't take it. (38 weeks)!!!

Homemade ginger tea with honey...it's been working wonders for me!
Also, Trader Joe's Ginger Brew works great too.
