Dd is almost 6 months and I'm curious when and what things are introduced.
So far at 5 months she started oatmeal cereal and now we are introducing veggies and fruit purées. What comes next?
I see the post about supply cups but is that when you start milk? What about table foods? What is a general guideline? I will get this from our pedi but curious from you girls.

We did all the basic fruits and veggies. Then started introducing meats, with something he had laready had (ex had turkey mixed with sweet potatos). I'm holding off on dairy. I'm also not giving anything with egg because I was deathly allergic to eggs until I was 12 y/o

I didn't start solids to 6 months, and skipped cereal. I did a few veggie purées, than some fruits. At about 8 months I got sick of making it and just started soft cooked finger foods. He had been doing well with puffs and Cheerios before that.
I introduced a sippy cup with water around the time I started table foods. My ped said not give milk until a year, I started milk at 11.5 months because I wants pumping enough and thought it was stupid to give formula for two weeks.

you can start anything whenever you want. there are no rules remember.
Start sippy cups before milk IMO....IT takes a long time for them to get it and to find the right cup. You can put formula, BM, water in them.
Just keep going with any foods you want. Some say no yogurt or eggs til a certain age....I didn't wait. the only thing I waited on was whole milk for 1 year.

As a PP said, there are really no hard and fast rules, you do what you're comfortable with. You can try proteins (chicken, beef) in purees. DS also started yogurt at 6 months. Soon after he had puffs and yogurt melts, then Cheerios. We started table foods around 7.5 or 8 months, I think.
DS started with water in a sippy at 6 months.
Whole milk you start around 1 year.

I did all fruits and veggies. Sippy cup you can introduce when you want. I didnt know that and did it at like 9 months I would have done it sooner just didnt even realize. It took my dd until she was 12 months to really GET it and stop playing with it. It takes time just keep giving it to them every day with every meal and snacks. You can even put BM or formula in it like other posters said.
Food just make sure they arent high allergen foods. Like I gave my dd egg yolks before 1 years old not the white, she got the whites after 1. Berries can be high allergy. Peanut butter. I read up alot of stuff on wholesomefoods.com and also talked to my peds. That site also has great recipes if you make any food. Whole milk 12 months unless your dc has an allergy. then talk to your peds about it.

It seems like peds are pretty varied in what they recommend so you may want to ask what yours thinks. I started solids at 6 months with oatmeal and then fruits and veggies. I added simple finger foods like cheerios and puffs after 7 months. At 8 months the ped suggested yougrt, meats, and other simple finger foods (steamed veggies, soft fruits, bits of meat, toast, etc). By 9 months they okayed everything except honey and straight cow's milk including eggs, peanut butter, shellfish. They suggested waiting until a year for cow's milk but I tried giving it at 11 months and she had a reaction so I ended up having to call, tell them what happened and feel like an idiot!
