I'm don't do all organic but I do do a lot of organic and don't allow my children to drink juice unless they are sick. I purchased organic mattresses for my girls and my brother thinks I'm going a bit nuts but I don't let the comment bother me. We joke about it more than anything. My mom buys organic milk for the girls for her fridge all the time but she always says stuff like you and your brother turned out fine on regular non organic milk. I don't even defend myself but I don't feel like I have to with my family.

I think you hit in another issue which is that the food industry is really different than when we were kids and SO different from when they were kids. If someone isn't aware of this it is easier to get defensive.

My dd is only 7 weeks old and i am already dealing with it. I don not eat meat or dairy my dh does but not in the house. He eats whatever I prepare. Our agreement is dd will not eat meat or dairy till she is 18 months then she can have it out of the house. Everyone has something to say I let it go in one ear and out the other. When out dd is old enough she can make her own choice just like I did. Until then I will do what I think is best for her.
