Isn't this really young?

My dd just turned 7 months a week ago. She army crawls like a champ but can't crawl. The last couple of days she's been pulling herself up to standing position using the couch and took a step. She did it in the tub today too. I has to sit her back down. I'm a ftm but I thought they did that at a later age.

Isn't this really young?

My DS was just like your DD... never really crawled. He started army crawling at 7 months, almost immediately pulled to standing, started cruising a few weeks later and then walked just before 10 months. But no actual crawling ever!

I think there is a very wide range. Both my girls were pulling up on the crib, toys, couches etc by 6 months and cruising 6-6.5 months. I have seen pictures of friend's children doing it at 5 months and other at 9. I think all kids do things at their own time-doesn't mean much.

No don't worry, she is great! my baby J stood at 6 months and at 7 months didn't need to hold on to stand on her own. walked at 9.5 months. Not unheard of! Have fun with it, they look like little grownups right? Chat Icon

Sounds like dd1. She was walking by 9.5 months. Get ready to baby proof. It's been nonstop for 3 yrs haha.

Dd 2 is 8 months and pulling to stand trying to cruise around. It's just a matter of time.

I full on walked at 7 months and 3 weeks. My girls didn't walk until after their 1st birthday. Every baby is different!

Re: Isn't this really young?

It's probably on the earlier side of the range. My ond DD was pulling up and cruising a bit at 9 mo. I asked the ped about it b\c my other DD wasn't yet and he said 9 mo was early.

my dd was the same way - at 6 months she was army crawling a ton
i believe it was her 7 months birthday when i went to get her in the morning and she was greeting me by standing in her crib

at 9 months she finally started crawling like a baby. i thought she was going to skip that and go straight to walking. at 9 months she walks around the crib and holding on to things. her favorite "toy" in the house is our table bc she just likes to walk around it. no interest in her learning table, or sit to stand walker

Re: Isn't this really young?

My youngest walked full on at 8.5 months. She started taking steps at 7 months. It's early but all kids are different. My youngest didn't want to be a baby. She wanted to be up running around after her sister. At 18 months she really is more like a 2.5 year old which is sort of sad.

Re: Isn't this really young?

My older DS was pulling up by 5 months, crawling at 6. We swore he'd be walking by 9 months, but he didn't start doing it independently until closer to 11 months. My younger DS didn't crawl until 10 months and didn't walk until 14. They're all different.
