Pressing ear to shoulder - Sign of teething or ear infection?
Over the past week my 2 year old has been pressing his ear (only his right one) down to his shoulder while playing or walking. He doesn't do it often, but often enough for me to notice. He is not rubbing his ear and doesnt' appear to be in any pain. Has anyone ever seen this? He does have a molar coming in (for a while now)...could this be a sign of teething? Or is it a possible sign of an ear infection? (He has never had one). We have his 2 year checkup in 2 weeks...so I wasn't sure if I should take him in now or wait. Any advice would be great...thanks!!

It could be either, really. For my DS, the way I find out if it's an ear infection is if he gets a fever. Otherwise, I just chalk it up to teething.

It could be either. If the molar comes in and he's still doing it, I'd take him to the dr to be safe.
