breastfeeding/migraines

Bizarre question...My DS is almost 1 month old and I am EBF'ng. Since he was born, I have had one migraine per week. Before having him I had about 1 per year tops.
Has this happened to any other breast feeders before?
On a side note, I exclusively pumped with my daughter for a year and never once had a migraine headache.
Just trying to think of any possible causes. ..

Re: breastfeeding/migraines

I would guess that it is more likely from the drastic change in hormones from pregnancy to postpartum rather than related to breastfeeding. I did not experience this with bf'ing, but did have other physical symptoms postpartum (such as night sweats) that went away after a few months. Hope you feel better soon! Are you drinking enough water? I tend to get them if I don't drink enough water or eat enough food/on time.

I got migraines (and continue to get even though I no longer bf) when I didn't eat/drink enough
I've found that even if I'm not hungry I need to eat breakfast by 930am or ill get a headache.
Try drinking more water and eating/snacking more

I've never had a migraine before but I used to get headaches when DD was a newborn if I didn't drink enough. I highly recommend the camelbak bottles to anyone who's bfing. They helped me increase my intake a lot and i pretty much had one next to me the entire 16 months I nursed DD.
