OB/GYN Questions

I am seeing my regular GYN at 7w3d. Dr Evan Shapiro in Woodbury NY.

Dr Shapiro is going to take blood and do a sono. I am having twins, my RE doesn't think this automatically makes me high risk, so he won't refer me. I am surprised, since I am also 39.

Can I ask my regular GYN for either the CVS test or the Materniti21 test? Can I also ask him to refer me to a high risk doctor?

If you are over 35 insurance should cover most of MaterniT21.

OB/GYN Questions

Yes and yes. I also saw an RE and they didn't say anything about me being high risk ( I am 34 and did IVF). When I went to my obgyn I was told I was AMA (advanced maternal age) and I had to se a genetics counselor and see a high risk doctor. They offered both tests at my obgyn office. Good luck!

Your age and twins does not make you high risk. The cvs and materni tests are not high risk tests. Anyone can have them.
