Toddler Rails/Full Rails

Depends on if you are going to use it as a toddler bed and/or full size bed in the future. We didn't buy either at the beginning.

I don't think toddler rails are necessary because toddler beds are really low to the floor. As far as full rails, that depends on if your DC moves around a lot while they sleep.

Re: Toddler Rails/Full Rails

After reading the safety concerns in Baby Bargains (or Toddler 411 - forgot which) I didn't want to use them. Our crib converted to toddler day bed (take off the front crib piece - no toddler rail). After the 3rd time DS fell out (got upset since he was sleeping etc) I rolled up towels and put them under the sheet along the edge of the mattress. (common suggestion is using a pool noodle but I didn't have one and towels seem to do the trick.)

Re: Toddler Rails/Full Rails

For the crib we got with my DD it came with the toddler rails and we paid extra for the conversion kit and full rails. We never used the toddler rails and went straight to a full bed for her, so it was worth the full rails and kit for us. Toddler rails is not a necessary IMO.
