where to sleep

when did you put LO from bassinet or R&P to crib?
if answer is different, when did LO sleep in their own room?

my baby still wakes 13084723587x a night hunger, no pacifier, gas, reflux, and the unknown

im afraid to switch to another room since it will be so much more for me and more crying for LO but not sure if im setting myself up for trouble waiting

Re: where to sleep

My dd was 4 months. She did not like to be swaddled and liked to keep her arms stretched out, so by 4 months she was looking really uncomfortable in the bassinet. She actually did sleep much better in the crib. She was a preemie though so she still woke up 1 to 2 times a night to eat until about 5 and a half months.

where to sleep

How old is your LO?

when did you put LO from bassinet or R&P to crib?
6-7 months from R & P next to my side of the bed, to bassinet same spot, to crib. My dd had reflux and had choking episodes so until she outgrew it, I was petrified to put her in her crib. She also could not sleep flat, therefore she hated bassinet and R & P was my life saver LOL
I decided to put her in the bassinet in my room for 1 week before moving her to her crib because I wanted her to get used to sleep flat. And I didn't want to hit her with a double wammy of your sleeping flat AND your no longer in the same room or next to mommy. It worked for me. During the 6-7 month period though she got sick with a bad cold so that held me up on moving her to crib but right after that she went to her crib and LOVED IT! She loved having space to move around. The first few days were a lil tough BUT each night was better. The first night she woke up every 2 hours, the next every 3 hours, the next she woke up twice and then then just once and then sttn.
She also started taking her naps there.

if answer is different, when did LO sleep in their own room?
about 6-7 months old

my baby still wakes 13084723587x a night hunger, no pacifier, gas, reflux, and the unknown
My dd never took to the pacifier but she uses her bottle to soothe. She will wake sometimes and will only go back to bed with a bottle. I know I have to stop giving in, but I will work on that.

im afraid to switch to another room since it will be so much more for me and more crying for LO but not sure if im setting myself up for trouble waiting...
The longer you wait the harder it may be. It all depends on the baby. For the longest time my dd HATED sleeping flat, then around 6-7 months she LOVED IT! She was rolling around and able to kick her legs and move her arms SHE never looked back LOL Other people I know wait until 6-7 months have a hard time with it.
Honestly Ive learned even with my dd and seeing friends and talking to other moms, its consistency. Its routine. That's how they learn. Keep doing the same thing and they will eventually catch on. So there may be a week or 2 that is hard but after that your LO will get it.
And also trust your instinct. If you feel LO doesn't seem ready then wait a lil longer...
I also try to ready my dd cues as well.

Re: where to sleep

We switched DS1 at about 4 months from bassinet to crib. We plan to do the same with DS2, maybe even a little earlier.

Re: where to sleep

She slept in our room in pack and play til 7 months. She was ready sooner, but I wasn't. For some reason it was very hard for me to put her in her own room. But she slept great and we were worried it was going to be a disaster because we waited so long.

Re: where to sleep

I think DS started sleeping in his crib (in his room) around 1 month old, though he'd be in the swing in our room sometimes when I couldn't get him back down after eating.

If your baby is still waking up so much, I'd try moving into his/her own room. You might find that you both sleep better. You won't jump at every little noise.

Around 6 weeks I think I started putting her in there after she woke for her nighttime feeding bc she was super noisy early in the morning. By 8 weeks I think I was putting her in there at bedtime. She slept great for a month or two and then started waking again. You get used to going back and forth very quickly.

Re: where to sleep

My Dd slept in our room until 6 months when she physically outgrew the weight limit on the bassinet. I was in no rush to move her bc she woke frequently to eat and I EBF, so having her close was convenient. Switching to her crib at 6 months went smoothly, as I still nursed her to sleep, just put her down in her crib instead of the bassinet.

At about 2 months she went into her own room. She was still waking several times a night, but she would make lots of noises in her sleep that would wake me and keep me up. So moving her to her own room at least let me sleep better in between her wakings. She stayed in her rock n play for a long time, I think until 6 or 7 months because we had a really hard time transitioning her to her crib.

Re: where to sleep

DS #1 was about 4 months. I'd like to move DS #2 but he's not STTN yet and he's going to be in the same room with DS #1 and I don't want him waking his brother every night.

ETA - if he didn't have to share a room I think I'd probably want to move him anyway just because I feel lie it's easier to do stuff when I don't have to tiptoe around.
