Teaching a child to blow their nose

How did you teach your child to blow through their nose?

My DS is 3 he has a terrible head cold and is so stuffy. If he would just blow through his nose a lot of mucus would come out and he would feel so much better.

He barely lets me get in there with saline and the aspirator. Even when he does let me it doesn't do any good because its still up there.

I tell him to close his mouth and blow through his nose but he doesn't get it.

The only thing that gets a lot of it out is putting him in a warm bath and pouring water over his head.

We had ds watch us. He is 2 and if we say blow he tries but really doesn't do it hard enough to get anything out. He won't let us use the aspirator anymore so we just tough it out.

The way we taught my DD was to show her by taking a deep breath in and close your mouth and breathe out really hard. She gets it some times.
