I once tried to return something to BRU in Massapequa that I bought from TRU in Massapequa and they refused to take it. I thought it was ridiculous since its the same company. However, they are not known for their customer service so I would call and double check.

I think it would depend on the item. If it is something that is toys, then I would not expect BRU to accept it. If it is something baby related, I would not expect TRU to accept it. But if it carried in both stores, then I would imagine yes they would. Is there a dual location near you.

I hate returning things to BRU and TRU. The receipt and website speifically says that you can return the item to ANY BRU and TRU. There's no mention that the specific store has to carry it.
They'll probably give you a problem but they HAVE to accept the return. I'm typically not one to fight about things in stores but after working in customer service for 5 years I have no problem asking to speak to a manager and make them accept my return.

Not all the time... I tried to return a nursing bra I bought on the BRU to a BRU/TRU combo store and they gave me a really hard time because the BRU part of the store was small and didn't sell nursing bras. Ridiculous!
