Baby Food Avocado
I want to try and give DS an avocado. He is 7 months. I've never cut one before. Do I do anything special or just scoop it out and give to DS? Do I thin it out?

Cut all the way around with a knife, and split it in two. On one side there will be a pit, use a knife or spoon to take out the pit. Then use a spoon to scoop out each side. When DD was that age, I would put some avocado in a bowl and if it was really ripe, just mash it up until its nice & mushy. If its not real ripe, I used to add a little water to make it mushy. DD LOVED eating these when she was that age!

Thanks. Is there a way to tell if one is ripe?

Just press on it gently and it should have a little give to it. If it's hard then it's not ripe yet.
