Stony Brook OB (Porte, O'keefe, etc)
Any opinions on this practice? How is the office staff? I'm thinking of switching to deliver at stony brook. My current dr. only delivers at St.Charles.

Amazing. Love them all. Dr.Porte is my favorite and delivered my baby. I was high risk with some complications and he treated me like a family member. He usually has a wait but I never minded because when it was my turn I knew he would take all the time I needed with me and explain everything thoroughly. The other Dr's usually have less of a wait then him, but IMO it's worth it.

Dr. Porte delivered my younger DS and I really like him. Office staff is very nice. I like the other doctors as well.
My only complaint is the office could use a face lift. The wall paper is so ugly and they could use some new examining tables. Not that big of a deal, it's clean. I also wish they did blood work in the office.
I was spoiled at the old OBGYN I went to for years. The rooms where really nice, with up to date equipment. Plus they did blood work in office. Not many OB offices are like that.
I switched to deliver at Stony Brook. I delivered my first at a different hospital. Best descion I made. Stony brook maternity was so nice!!

They have a few offices and the one in Bohemia is absolutely gorgeous!! I also switched doctors and so far am very happy with the practice!!

Dr. Lochner delivered my two children (the second was with dr okeefe). I love then. Heard great things about Porte too, but I haven't seen him much.
They will be doing my 3rd c section as well.
