Best toy for long car trip
We have a 6 hour car trip next week, and I want to get my 19month old DD some new toys. What do you recommend that is car friendly and will keep her busy/occupied?

Leap Pad.
If she colors - they make some dry erase travel boards with washable crayons/markers.
new doll with accessories.
new books.
This is what we have done when we travel with DD.

A portable dvd player . Elmo dvds are the only thing that keep DD happy for long stretches.
Small books and stuffed animals, a mini magnadoodle (dd likes to draw on it but loves when we draw something and she can tell us what it is), a little shovel keeps her entertained forever bc she'll use her cup holder to "cook" and "eat", an empty spice jar with the top that snaps open and closed, a set of flash cards, sheet of stickers, finger puppets.

Ipad or kindle fire loaded up with episodes of sesame street is the best thing for long car trips. at least in our car.

DS is 3... but he really likes these books called "Water Wow" from Melissa and Doug. it has a little "pen" that you fill with water, and as they brush it on the pages, the water makes different colors and objects appear. its pretty cool  he also has a little steeting wheel toy that I got him at Target that makes sounds, etc. and the Leapfrog LeapTop "computer" thing is cute, too and plays different sounds when he pushes the buttons.
We also have my old Iphone loaded up with some educational apps that we pull out as a "last resort", too.

This is the only thing that ever kept dds attention. We bought an attachment piece that the iPad sits In. And Mickey did owners for us. She used to scream in the car do this helped us sooo much

Oh and DS also really likes his leap reader (Tag) JR in the car. ( the one that looks like scout/violet)
he loved touching it on the different books and pictures and hearing the different sounds and characters voices and stuff. I just wish it "held" more books!

water wow books are awesome- they just use water and dry and can be reused - the Melissa and doug ones are best

Thanks everyone! With the kindle, I thought it had to be on Wifi to play shows? I downloaded Sesame for our last trip, and when I tried to play it, it said no connected to Wifi. Am I doing something wrong?
