Interview questions for caretaker

Hi all
Within the past few months I thought I saw a post in here that listed questions for interviews with your potential nanny/sitter. Anyone know where that is?
Also anyone have any must ask questions that they wish they asked and didn't or things from my DH's and my side we should lay out in the first meeting/interview?

I'm freaking out about this. I have major separation anxiety with my newborn right now and to think I'm going to have someone come into my home to watch her just scares me. I want to make sure I'm thorough with these ladies and ensure I give them a clear picture of our expectations.

Ok any help would be great...sorry for the rant!

Here's the link to the post you're referring to. Clicky

My advice is to do phone screens and then invite the girls over who you feel comfortable with. See how they interact with your baby, ask the tough questions. You'll ultimately pick someone you feel comfortable with. Also make sure you do a full background check.

I had the nanny over for a few hours a day for a week before I went back to work. The first few days she basically just watched how I did things. Then I would have her do things with the baby while I was home, but not with then. Then I would run errands and leave her alone with the baby. That's how I got comfortable with the nanny. The baby got to know her and she got to know us.

No situation is perfect. We tried daycare for a month and it wasn't going to work for our situation, so we wound up going with a nanny.

Either way, you'll adjust and get used to the idea of not being with the baby all the time. It's tough, but that's why you interview a lot of people to find who fits best with your family.
