anyone use enfamil AR or similar rice formula?

I just got back from DS's 2 month appt. Doc thinks he has reflux and told me to start him on Enfamil AR. Ive been reading the amazon reviews and ppl say the powder gets clumpy and the nipple on the bottle needs to be widened. Have you found this to be true? Should I just give him ready to pour? I haven't used ready to pour at all yet, and would rather not as I hate the idea of heating the bottles. I also think it will get $$$$$.
Thanks for any insight!!

We use AR. We didn't like the rtf. I did not widen the nipples. I make a big pitcher in the dr browns pitcher and it's fine. We are using the playtex bottles with liners and the 2 nd size nipple. Haven't had any issues with clumping even when I make one bottle. Just make sure to mix it good. I like to swirl it at first then shake it.

Hi! THanks for answering. What was the issue with the RTF? I am using the Playtex bottles too. I haven't ever had to warm the formula bc we just shake and go. If I premix in the pitcher how do you warm the bottle? Do you do it before you put it in the liner?

I have been using the similac for spit up for the past 7 months. I use the playtex drop ins and the playtex ventaires ( same nipples for both). I used to make them in the bottle and just swirl it a little before I actually shook the bottle but now that my DD drinks more I make it in a pitcher and then pour it in. I use the playtex "y" nipple which is for thickened formula. They sell them at babies r us and most of the time at Walmart.

Dd seemed to spit up more with it and she spits up a ton even off it lol. It's also a brownish color so it stained everything. We have a warmer that we got for dd1 I use that but if you put the formula in the liners/ bottle stick in a cup with hot water it warms up quickly. I still have some dr browns bottles that I use in the warmer.

I used my magic bullet to mix it- it came out much smoother.

the 'Y" nipples I tries with dd1 when we added the rice ourselves and she choked on it. It was way to fast and being he's so little I would try the next size up nipple first. DD2 has never had a problem with the medium nipples even now at almost 8 months. It's not insanely thick and it mixes much better than adding the cereal into reg formula imo.

1 other thing if you don't wants warm them. Room temp water mixes better as well. If I don't have any made I use room temp and don't heat it. She takes. Dd1 took cold formula straight from the fridge. So I would try everything and see what works.
