X-Post: If you couldn't be with baby after birth....
I had all of my final appointments today and its been a lot to take in! Due to the placenta previa and my congenital heart defect, the anesthesia department seems to be erring on the side of caution and might put me under general for the CS. Due to that, my OB told me I might not be able to see LO for 24-48 hours. She said I could pump and they would give her the breast milk. I have been so sad about this- I can't imagine not being able to see her. Has anyone else not been able to see their LO after birth? Do you still feel you were able to bond? I'm so heartbroken thinking I'm going to miss this early time with her. Anyone willing to share their experience, would be really appreciated! Thank you!

I was able to see him for a second before they took him to nicu but I wasn't allowed to see him again till I was 24 hours fever free. When I think about it now it makes me sad that I missed out on all the firsts with him but at the moment I was so sick and in pain it didn't get to me when I was in the hospital. Lots of luck to you

My dd was born at 32 weeks and went to the nicu. I didn't see her for a day, and I didn't get to hold her until she was a week old. Don't worry it will not impact your bond at all. Just keep in mind you're doing whats best for you and your baby.
