How Do You Do It?
I went back to work last week and I mean that loosely. I've been working at home with the exception of some half days in the city for meetings.
I am really struggling. I can't concentrate on work, am thinking of the baby and vice versa. We bought a house in Sept and are renovating and thought we'd be in by now but not yet. We are running around trying to finish that up. I had two meetings in the city this morning and cancelled because my dad got really sick and ended up going to the hospital.
I feel like I am all over the place, can't focus on anything, and am half-a$$ing everything. I travel a lot for work and work is accommodating me with no travel through the end of the year. One more thing I'm trying not to go crazy over. How am I supposed to leave my then 5 mo old DD come January to travel for weeks on end and only come home on the weekends?!
I'd appreciate any advice on how you all manage your hectic lives and thanks for letting me vent.

IMO it will help if you are not working from home. Leaving the house and being in the office where you are surrounded by work and not all the other stuff will help.

I agree. Impossible to get stuff done at home with the baby. I just want this extra time at home with her right now before I start traveling again. My mom will be watching her while I work and I also have a few hours at night when I put her down before I go to bed.

Re: How Do You Do It?
I agree that it's easier once you get out. And it also gets easier when you adjust to being back at work. I think it would also be easier with your mom watching the baby. Daycare and nannies are a bit more stressful, IMO. What's hard is that you have so many other things going on right now. It will all settle down and this will become your new normal.
