Re: Toys for 4 month old
Really at this age they'd chew on an old shoe I'd buy very little for them and put the $ you would have spent on toys into their college fund. They won't know the difference at 4months! (not exactly what you asked but figured I'd throw my opinion out there)

I tend to agree. DS is 9 months old and really just starting to show interest in different toys now.

This. I didn't buy holiday gifts for my first daughter until she was two. She really didnt know the difference and she had a ton of toys from when she was born until then. I have a 9 month old now and I don't plan on getting her anything until next year when Chanukah rolls around again. She's really too little at this point To get the meaning of anything. I just put the money in her bank for now.

Re: Toys for 4 month old
DD will be just shy of 5 months at Christmas. Even though I keep telling myself not to go crazy, I'm going to fail.
Like other posters have mentioned, she's not into toys right now. All she pretty much wants is to be held and walked around so she can look at her surroundings. Lol. She's very curious.
What we already have but have not used - exersaucer, jumperoo, FP rainforest gym, FP kick and learn piano, FP stacking rings, oball, sassy links, sassy mirror, an octopus that plays music (maybe FP?), Jacques the Peacock, two Sophie the Giraffe teethers.
I've already bought the lamb mat and ended up paying almost double because it's sold out everywhere! We will definitely get some books, toys, and outfits. I bought new footie pjs for Christmas Eve. I want this to become tradition. Saw this great idea on Pinterest of a box filled with pjs, movie, snacks like popcorn, hot cocoa. Loved it and would like to do it.
