When do you start? How do you know its time to start? I see some people starting at 17 months and others not until 2.5

Re: potty training?
Really depends on your child. My oldest had zero interest in it. We didn't even try until 32 months and she really didn't get it until right before she turned 3. My youngest is 17 months and loves the potty. She tells us when she has to go poopie. She is ready now so we are attempting the 3 day method this week.
Signs to look for is staying dry through naps and nighttime. Interest in the potty.

Re: potty training?
they say if your child tells you they went to the bathroom and stays dry for long periods of time they could be ready.
My DS is very inconsistant with these things so we have not started, he is 2.5... I think closer to 3 he will understand more and be ready to try

Re: potty training?
With DS, we didn't wait for any sign. He trained with 3 day method at 2 years and 2 months.
DD has been telling me AS she is going to poop. She Looks at potty and calls it pee pee and can talk some. It's time for her, i just need 3 days of me doing nothing!

I didn't wait for signs either. DD trained in 1.5 days at 24 months for day time, we're still working on overnight.
