What kind of cake for 1st birthday

I have no idea what kind of cake to give DD on her 1st birthday. She is still on formula but does eat baby yogurt and soft cheese. I'm worried about ingredients or frosting on the cake messing up her stomach. Idk ini should make her one or order one. What kind of cake did you give your LO for the first time?? Thanks.

What kind of cake for 1st birthday

My DS had cake from stop n shop at 4 months. For his birthday I made a cake. Has your dd had eggs? That is the only thing I'd worry about.

DD has an allergy to uncooked milk so I was concerned specifically about what frosting to give her. I ended up making her regular boxed cake for her cake smash and party and used the pink funfetti frosting since it actually has no milk in it. If she eats bread products then I wouldn't be worried about the cake itself.

Nope. Make sure she's had egg before.
Honestly, DS and DD never had their first birthday cake.

What boxed cake did you use?

I was also thinking if maybe just skipping the cake for her all together. But they do have several dairy free, egg free cake mixes at most health good places, I may just try this.

How were you able to tell your DD has an allergy to uncooked milk vs cooked milk? My DD also has a dairy allergy, but we figured this out with raw milk products and haven't attempted to give her anything with cooked milk. Her allergist did say she would probably be fine with baked goods containing dairy, but I haven't wanted to test the theory.

I forget which brand. It was a yellow cake from either pillsbury or betty crocker. Have you given things like pancakes or waffles? You could try those to see if she's okay with the cooked eggs. Or just try scrambled eggs if you're comfortable with that. Our ped was fine with whole eggs by 9 months.
