mama's who own the valco tri-mode with joey seat

up until what age did you have your child in the joey seat? DS will almost be 3 by the time DS#2 is born. is it worth it for me to get the joey seat or should I just get a double stroller?

I already have the board with the seat like this one:


but my mother made a good point and said "what if DS#1 wants to nap in the stroller? he can't do it in that bucket seat"

so ...my two questions are:

are your babies able to nod off in the joey seat ok? and is it worth it when DS#1 will be 3 by the time we start using it?
