i can't take it!!!! sleep issues as usual
DD has always fought her naps & bedtime, it was so bad that I had to talk to a sleep coach (she did help a lot & it was working for a little.) But lately it's getting worse everyday. DD is 28 months & getting her down is a full out battle & I just can't take it twice a day (once for nap & then again at bedtime.) She's usually ok through the routine but she just screams "mommy i need one more thing please, mommy, please" - the please is very nice at least Some days she actually falls asleep for her nap but it takes at least an hour. It's the same at night, she carries on screaming & crying for a little then quiets down & plays with her dolls for an hour & falls asleep. I feel like she spends more time in the crib then out of it & it's torture on both of us. When she doesn't nap, which is about 3 or 4 days a week, she is miserable so I don't want to give up on them yet but it's just not working. Sorry, just needed to vent, thanks you!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this!
Maybe you should alter the times that you're trying to put her down. She just might not be tired at that time, or already overtired. I think it's important to follow her lead when it comes to nap time and bed time. I can't imagine being asked to fall asleep right away if I just wasn't tired, kwim?

I think this all the time! I feel bad I'm putting her to sleep & she just isn't tired or she's so tired she can't sleep but I can't figure out which it is!
She always seemed exhausted when I put her in so I've been trying a little earlier before she gets like that but then she has more energy & just yells more & fights harder to stay awake!
If I put her in her crib at 3 she'd probably fall asleep but I can't imagine what time she'd go to sleep at night (if ever!) Does anyone have a late napper that still goes to sleep at night at a decent time?

My daughter (33 mos) often naps late on the weekends, sometimes until 3:30-4, and is still able to go to bed by 9:30. During the week, she naps at daycare from 12:15-2 and goes to bed around 8:30. Sorry you're going through this. It's so hard.
