Is anyone else ready to go crazy due to insurance company & dr office?
I am seriously at the end if my rope between the 2. Drs office bills insurance and insurance says office is billing with the wrong codes so they don't cover the tests. I in turn get bills up the wazoo and spend endless hours on the phone with both parties since neither will talk to each other.
I have bcbs and they want the drs offices to use their own codes but the drs offices are using generic codes supposedly all insurance companies accept. I keep explaining this and get no where.
Anyone else go through this or is it smooth sailing?
I am so ***** frustrated

Crashing...but I do billing/coding and bcbs has been giving everyone a really hard time since they outsourced in the beginning of the year. They used to be one of the easiest insurances to work with but now they are a nightmare!

I don't have bcbs but either my dr's office or my insurance company screwed up with my initial visit. The Dr's office is saying they sent in a bill twice for my first viist in July which was my first sono and appt. and that the insurance company hasn't paid it. I checked with the insurance company and they claim they don't have a bill from my dr for that date but they have one for Quest. I never went to Quest that day so I'm inclined to believe that the insurance company just screwed up when inputting the bill and they sent payment to Quest instead of my dr's office. And I'm stuck in the middle of this clusterfcuk.

Did they do any bloodwork? I know all bloodwork done in the office was sent to a lab who processed billing separately - that may explain the Quest Bill.

Crashing - thanks for posting this. I'm not pregnant but, I'm having issues with them for an ER visit for DS 2 - they are denying payment for bills they are supposed to cover - it's been a few months of back and forth. Luckily the people at the hospital billing department are nice and patient.

Nope! They don't do bw in my office except for the fingerpricks at the NT scan and early anatomy scan. The only thing related to bw at my first appt was getting a Rx to go to Quest to have bw done.

Re: Is anyone else ready to go crazy due to insurance company & dr office?
If it makes you feel any better we received a $127,000 bill from the plastic surgery that did the stitches for my husbands back surgery. My husband saw it and almost died. He called me and asked what to do. I told him simply go to bank withdrawal the $127,000 and pay it. Duh!!
Usually ob's office bill out your sono's and then the pregnancy as one big global fee at the end. Usually inter uterine pregnancy is the diagnosis so I can't see why bcbs would deny that. Was this for a sono? Fit in appt? Or a basic appointment?
