membrane stripping?

Im 39w6d and had my membranes stripped today. Was 3cm dilated, 3 weeks ago I was 1-2cm dilated and 75% effaced.

Anyone have their membranes stripped and go into labor soon after?

I unfortunately did not go into labor by that. I had to be induced in my 42nd week! Good luck! Hope it works for you!!

Re: membrane stripping?

I wasn't told that my membranes were stripped but I would bet money on it!

It hurt so bad - Dr made it seem like he was only doing an internal but it was more than that.

Anyway, I went into labor less than 48 hours later.

membrane stripping?

Doc stripped my membranes on a Sunday morning, about 10:00. Started having contractions at noon and had my DD the next morning.
Good luck!! Hope it's soon!

membrane stripping?

Had mine stripped at 38wks 5days. It was a Thursday evening and I had DD bright and early Saturday morning at 39 wks exactly. Prior to that, I had been 1-2 cm, I think 50% effaced, had not had a single contraction and the Drs kept telling me there was no way DD would be born by her due date, that I was definitely going to be overdue. So yeah, I think this helped a lot!

Good luck!

Re: membrane stripping?

With my first, I was stripped twice in the two weeks before. Didn't do a thing but increased discharge and losing mucous plug (which can regenerate). With my second, it didn't work either but I was still very posterior at 41 weeks so it was hard for the midwife to even do it. Went into labor right before my induction at 9 days late.

With my third, I was stripped at 41 weeks and went into labor 3 full days later. I don't think it helped, I was already 5cm and almost totally effaced and still went 3 more days!

same here... except I started having contractions immeditiately. I was 1-2 cm at the dr, 4 days late, he did whatever he did that was insanely painful, I went home and was have contractions and was bleeding. I went home just to get my bag and head to the hospital to be induced, they didn't start inducing right away cause I was having good contractions, got to 3cm the I stalled and they start pitocin.
