Hospital Clothes?

Can we change the baby in the hospital or do they have to stay in the hospital onesie? I'm delivering at North Shore Manhasset.

Hospital Clothes?

I delivered DS at NSM and I kept him in the hoispital onesies until it was time to leave the hospital.

I would *think they want you to keep them in the hospital onesie because its easier for Drs/nurses to open and check/change the baby while they are there.

Re: Hospital Clothes?

OK, thanks! I had just packed a couple of outfits for her and it dawned on me that I wasn't sure if we could change them.

Re: Hospital Clothes?

I delivered at NS Manhasset and didn't change him until it was time to leave. They put them in a shirt and they swaddle them for you if you ask so they are plenty warm, but I agree I think they prefer baby in their stuff to make it easier on them.

Hospital Clothes?

I delivered at Huntington and I had her in her own clothes when we had visitors.

Re: Hospital Clothes?

I only brought coming home outfits for both boys. I saw no reason to put them in outfits. It was just easier to keep them in the hospital onsie.

They nurses take them alot for tests, so I think it is just easier on everyone to keep them in as little clothes as possible. They are nice and warm with their swaddle blanket and hat.

Re: Hospital Clothes?

Only outfit baby needs is the one they wear home. Take it from me who use to work in L&D the nurses on the postpartum floor hates when new mommies change their clothes and the reason is when they have to do tests or gets examined by your pediatrician they don't like taking off all those clothes(frustrating for them).
