Tell me about your contractions...
I am 40W3D right now and getting very frustrated and impatient!!
I know some of you have gone to 42 weeks, and god bless you because I am already losing it lol!!!
Anyway I have been getting contractions for like 2 weeks now that feel stronger than BH, but they seem to have no start/stop to them and just eventually fade away. They are exactly what everyone says real contractions feel like- back pain, bad cramping like period cramps times 10, when I get up and try to walk around they don't go away, and sometimes I get shortness of breath... but they usually last about 3-5 minutes each or sometimes longer, and eventually fade and go away.
This is so annoying and such a tease! My doctor told me 6 days ago that he thought I'd go into labor in about 48 hours as I was 3 cm/ 90% effaced, and baby was VERY low.
But the baby is still not here and these random contractions persist!
Did anyone else experience this? How long did it last before REAL labor kicked in?

Re: Tell me about your contractions...
I had this with my DS for probably a few weeks at the end. I had to be induced 5 days after my due date. With my DD, I had this 24 hours before I had my bloody show and real labor started.

Re: Tell me about your contractions...
I had this from about 40 weeks to when I delivered at 41 weeks...went into labor on my own. The only way I knew I was actually going into labor was a lot of bloody show followed by timeable back labor.

Re: Tell me about your contractions...
The good news is that those contractions are probably helping you progress, so doing a lot of the work without too much pain is awesome.
I felt the same with my third. What sent me to the hospital is waking up to "the real deal" and bloody show. I had on/off contractions for weeks prior, was 5cm dilated at my 41w appt and still went three days beyond that.
Good luck!
